How to play
Kirkle is a daily word ladder. Everyone starts from the same four-letter word. Change exactly one letter to make another real four-letter word, then keep going until the word is KIRK. The fewest steps that can get there is par. Extra steps above par are what the game scores.
The daily puzzle
A new puzzle begins at 08:00 UTC. The starting word is chosen from a fixed schedule, so every player sees the same ladder that day. Finish KIRK and the game keeps your wins, streak, and average extra guesses in this browser.
Words
Guesses have to be four letters and one change away from the previous word. The dictionary is the public-domain ENABLE word list, limited to the four-letter words that can actually reach KIRK. Daily starting words are familiar words from that set. Kirkle is not affiliated with any other word-ladder game.
